IMPACT

Cognitive and Socio-Economic Impact

The RoMD-MedAI project is expected to generate significant cognitive and socio-economic impact by improving the understanding, acceptance, and responsible use of advanced medical data processing technologies among both healthcare professionals and patients in Romania and the Republic of Moldova. By assessing attitudes toward artificial intelligence, genomics, and digital health tools, the project will contribute to increased digital literacy and informed decision-making within healthcare systems. The development of educational programs and evidence-based recommendations will support healthcare professionals in integrating data-driven approaches into clinical practice while empowering patients to better understand how their medical data are used in care and research. From a socio-economic perspective, the project may facilitate more efficient healthcare delivery, promote trust in digital health infrastructures, and support the development of policies that encourage innovation while protecting patient rights. Ultimately, these outcomes can contribute to strengthening health system resilience, improving access to modern healthcare services, and fostering cross-border collaboration in digital health between the two countries.

OBJECTIVES

OS 1

Assessment of healthcare professionals’ perspectives and attitudes toward the processing and analysis of medical data within the digitalization of healthcare in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

OS 2

Assessment of patients’ perspectives and attitudes toward the processing and analysis of medical data within the digitalization of healthcare in Romania and the Republic of Moldova..

OS 3

Identification of the main challenges and barriers to healthcare digitalization related to specific forms of medical data processing (e.g., artificial intelligence, genomics, wearable devices), and the proposal of potential solutions that address the needs and perspectives of stakeholders at both ends of the healthcare spectrum (providers and beneficiaries).

OS 4

Comparison and contrast of these findings between the two countries, thereby identifying commonalities and divergences that may influence future interventions or policy decisions.

OS 5

Development of an evidence-based educational program for patient education on the processing and analysis of medical data, covering both clinical and research applications.

OS 6

Development of a comprehensive set of recommendations and best practices for healthcare professionals regarding the processing and analysis of medical data in the context of healthcare digitalization.

OS 7

Development of a continuing medical education program aimed at training healthcare professionals, particularly those in leadership positions, in the field of digital health.

OS 8

Establishment of a preliminary policy framework aimed at harmonizing standards and practices in digital healthcare services between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, thereby strengthening cross-border medical cooperation.
